Wagyu Genetic Inventory

Premium Genetics Available for Breeding

The Wagyu breed is a premium Japanese beef cattle breed, considered a national treasure in Japan. In the late 1900’s, less than 200 Wagyu cattle were exported from Japan. However, shortly after, Japan ceased exportation of live wagyu, semen or embryos to overseas markets to prevent competition with foreign producers. Today, only a few thousand Full-Blood Wagyu cattle exist in the United States. At DL Texas Ranch, we offer rare genetic opportunities with sales of semen and embryos from our impressive Full-Blood and Purebred Polled Wagyu that are raised and handled with exceptional care.

Sires

Full-Blood Donors

The population of Full-Blood Wagyu in the United States is considered limited, totaling fewer than 5,000 cattle. The importance of Full-Blood Wagyu is centered on maintaining the purity of ancient lineages, which are cause for the delicate umami flavor and outstanding quality of meat. In order to be certified Full-Blood Wagyu, the pedigree must be comprised 100% of ancient Japanese lineages, with no evidence of crossbreeding.
